Nominate a Young Local Hero
The next round of Gordon Marsden MP’s Young Local Heroes is underway in Blackpool South. The scheme will give to recognition to young unsung heroes in our community and reward them for their exceptional work.
Young Local Heroes covers the 12 to 19 year old age range which builds on the longstanding Local Heroes scheme sponsored by Gordon Marsden MP. The campaign which is being backed by Blackpool FC Community Trust – Blackpool FC’s charitable arm – is inviting nominations for young people across the area that have helped people and done outstanding work to improve their community.
Gordon said, “I know and have said numerous times that young people across Blackpool have a splendid record in volunteering, caring, charitable and other community activities. This is an excellent modest way on the back of existing Local Heroes awards to recognise and highlight those contributions. Our last Young Local Heroes campaign gave us the opportunity to reward the charity work of our winner Aaron Edger who was presented his prize at Blackpool Football Club by Jimmy Armfield.”
Nominations for the Young Local Heroes are invited as soon as possible with the deadline for completed forms on 8th June 2012. Winners will be awarded shortly after so please collect your Young Local Heroes leaflet now available from Gordon Marsden’s office at 304 Highfield Road or via his website www.gordonmarsden.co.uk
