Gordon Welcomes Travel Investment For Pensioners
Gordon is proud to announce that he has successfully lobbied the Government which are now set to invest £880,000 extra funding in order to pay for free services for pensioners here in Blackpool. The announcement comes after the government declared it would invest £1.3m for the Fylde coast to give pensioners free travel.
The financial support will come from the redeployment of funding and reinvestment into towns such as Blackpool that have had financial shortfalls over consecutive years.
Gordon said, “In recent times there have been losses to bus services and transport for pensioners across Blackpool and I hope this is will save some of these bus services. This new funding programme is a step towards bringing equal funding to the Fylde coast and will mean I hope that the Council and Blackpool Transport will look again at the job losses and services.”
