Gordon Welcomes Local Jobs Boost
Blackpool South MP Gordon Marsden is today welcoming the announcement of 200 new jobs in Blackpool thanks to funding from the Government’s £1billion Future Jobs Fund as part of a successful bid by Blackpool Council.
Mr Marsden said ‘I’m delighted to see new jobs created in Blackpool thanks to the Government’s new initiative. It is vital that we learn from the mistakes of previous recessions and prevent a generation of young people from being lost to long term unemployment.’
‘This bid should be the inspiration for businesses, charities and community groups across Blackpool to put forward their own submissions and create new jobs for young people locally giving them the opportunities they deserve.’
Organisations can apply for the Future Jobs Fund by visiting http://campaigns.dwp.gov.uk/campaigns/futurejobsfund/ and completing the bidding forms available on the website. The Future Jobs Fund is a £1billion scheme to help create 100,000 new jobs for young people and job seekers.
