Gordon Pushes For Safer Neighbourhoods

Gordon has been working closely with your very active councillors and local police, under their new chief Richard Debicki, to combat problems caused by car parking and anti-social behaviour throughout Hawes Side.  Gordon was pleased to join the August Hawes Side PACT meeting with local councillors where they took up issues about traffic problems on and near Boston Way as well as plans to improve overgrown areas in the ward.

This is park and parcel of the ongoing work that your councillors take up and liaise closely with Gordon and his office for us to have input with as appropriate.  An example of this was the meetings in the past couple of years held at Baines School which helped to clear up a particular persistent patch of anti-social behaviour and around a number of properties and individuals – Gordon knows from these special meetings and going around PACT meetings such as Hawes Side’s that they’re very valuable in bringing together local agencies, including police and Council officers.

(This included a crackdown on underage drinking in Hawes Side on the protective fencing now in place along St. Edmunds Road and around Colwyn and Welback Avenues).
