Gordon Praises Donation To Tiggers
Halfway Charity Support Group recently gave a huge donation of £3,200 to local children charity Blackpool Tiggers.
The Halfway Charity Group which was set up by locals of the Halfway House pub have put on various events throughout the year which included sponsored bike rides, walks and weight loss, quiz and functions, car boot sales and finishing up with their Annual Family Fun Day in the summer to raise as much money as possible. Thanks to the hard work of the committee members and the generous donations from local residents and businesses they achieved their highest total of £3,200.
Local MP Gordon Marsden who is the charity’s patron said at the presentation of the cheque, “This is a fantastic achievement from a local charity doing what they can to help others across Blackpool. Their fun day was a great success and I encourage everyone to attend their future events at the Halfway House.”
