Gordon Meets With Community Groups In Blackpool
Gordon has been rolling out an extensive programme of February and March meetings consulting with groups across Blackpool on their needs and concerns with recent Business and Older People’s Forums at St. Paul’s, Marton.
‘These 90-minute informal sessions give people a real chance to look together at some of the issues that are affecting them in Blackpool and indeed new initiatives that might help them.
In the two we’ve done so far for instance the new Social Care Green Paper and help for older people at home and the range of Government-funded initiatives – like the ‘Get Started’ scheme – were able to be covered.
The feedback is invaluable to me in lobbying and campaigning with organisations in Blackpool and with Government nationally – and it underlines my commitment to ongoing consultation with the people and groups I represent.’
