Gordon's Strictly Delighted!
Gordon is delighted by the announcement that the hit BBC One TV show Strictly Come Dancing is returning to Blackpool for a special edition of the show on Saturday 7th November.
The announcement came after a long campaign by both Gordon and fellow local MP Joan Humble as well as comments from figures such as one of the show's judges, Craig Revel Horwood and previous winner Alesha Dixon, who urged the BBC to take the show back to Blackpool. Last year Gordon tabled an Early Day Motion in parliament calling for the show's return that was signed by 35 of his parliamentary colleagues.
'I'm delighted the show has returned to Blackpool!' Gordon said. 'It is an excellent opportunity for the facilities we have here to be seen by a massive prime time TV audience. This also serves to reinforce the current development of the Tower Headland area into one of dance and popular entertainment, as funded by the Government's Sea Change programme.'
